About Me

I love everything about reading and writing, and my heart belongs to children's literature, especially middle grade and young adult.

Teacher by day, I have a bachelor's degree in English and a concentration in secondary education.

I am a member of SCBWI and currently working on my MFA in Children's Literature.  I am an aspiring author, and my thesis for my MFA will be YA steampunk retelling of Jane Eyre.

I won the Shirley Henn Award for Creative Achievement in Children's Literature at the 2012 Francelia Butler Conference at Hollins University.

My Top Five Favorite Books Are:
1. The Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling
